Message from the Principal

Welcome to Flora Arca Mata Elementary,
Flora Arca Mata instilled the importance of education in the students, families, and teachers she served throughout the Stockton community. As principal, I will strive to continue her educational legacy with the students and staff of Mata Elementary.
It is my goal to work alongside our teachers, staff, students, and community to create a safe learning environment where every student can reach their full potential. Together, we will continue fostering the importance of education and career readiness while nurturing students to become respectful, responsible, productive, and creative citizens.
At Mata Elementary, we will continue to work as a family and model learning skills throughout the curriculum. During my three years of service at Mata, our school has grown into a safe and supportive learning environment for students. This year, we will continue practicing school-wide AVID strategies, with teachers earning AVID certification in grades Kindergarten through 6.
Our Mustangs have proudly represented Mata in district events, earning academic placements in MESA, PLUS, and STEAM. We are also proud of our 8th grade students who are consistently accepted into specialty high schools of choice. Together, we have come a long way and will continue building on our legacy.
School-to-Home Communication
School-wide ClassDojo will be used as our primary school-to-home communication tool. ClassDojo is a free app available on smartphones and computers.
The Flora Arca Mata School Staff and I Strive To:
- Form strong partnerships with parents and guardians in supporting each child’s education.
- Maintain open lines of communication between school and home.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment where learning is the priority.
