Welcome to Flora Arca Mata Elementary,
Flora Arca Mata instilled the importance of education to all of the students, families and teachers that she served in the Stockton community. As your principal, I will strive to continue her educational legacy to the students and staff of Mata Elementary.
As principal, it is my goal to work with our teachers, staff, students, and community to create a safe learning environment that allows every student to reach their full potential. I plan to continue working with my team to foster the importance of education and careers, and to nurture our students to become respectful, responsible, productive, and creative citizens.
At Mata Elementary, we will continue to work as a family and model and teach learning skills within the curriculum. In my three years of service at Mata, our school has become a safe learning environment for our students. This year, we will continue to practice school-wide AVID (Achievement Via Individual Determination) strategies, with our teachers earning AVID certification in grades Kindergarten through 6. Our Mustangs have also represented us in district events, earning academic placements in MESA, PLUS, and STEAM. Additionally, we take pride in our 8th graders who are consistently accepted into specialty high schools of choice. Together, we have come a long way and will continue building on our legacy.
School-wide Class Dojo will be our means of school-to-home communication, which is a free app available on smartphones and computers.
The Flora Arca Mata School Staff and I strive to:
- Form strong partnerships with you, the parents, in facilitating your child's education
- Maintain open lines of communication between school and home
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment where learning is the priority
